Finally! Duet's twins!
It's Winter Again!
It has been so cold here that we've had to put heat lamps out in the last two jugs.
What happened to Spring??
We had a delightful weekend though!
A 4-H sewing group gathered here Saturday morning from 9-1. We met them when we had our first annual Shearing Day last month. A lovely group of homeschoolers who admired my Civil War re-enacting apron. I invited them back to make some of their own. They brought a yummy lunch and so much enthusiasm.
As a bonus they got to see the lambs! At 1pm the monthly Spinning Group arrived. I love these ladies~they are such an inspiration! One of these days I'll actually sit down and spin with them!
On Friday a prospective new shepherdess took this photo of two of our latest lambs.
Zita is the one standing,ZaneGrey is in front of her. We have 3 katmogets so far.

Mercy's Twins
Mercy Finally decides to deliver.
When we came home from Church there was a car in our driveway. A dear friend drove up from NJ to bring me a carrot cake for my birthday! She arrived before we got there and witnessed the birth of Mercy's twins. Ha! She thought she'd be alone! She was in the middle of having the first twin when Krista peeked in.
We have a concern about these two. It seems they each have their left rear leg bent backwards.Could this be from an odd position in the womb or something else? They are up and walking much improved now. Any thoughts? The ewe lamb is a grey kat and the ram a very serious, sturdy black krunet. Look at that attitude!

Sunday Morning Surprise
Mercy had been teasing me with labors signs for 3 days." Imminent!" her pawing and circling behaviour said and then off she'd run ~literally run when she saw hay coming over the fence or a blade of grass she'd missed before. I know I saw a string of mucous coming out of her on Sat. am.I Prepared her jug and waited.
Meanwhile Raven, our sweetest ewe plopped down in front of me stuck her nose up into the air and pushed out twins right at my feet!!
We checked Mercy every half hour Sunday Morning but she just continued to chew her cud placidly looking at me like I was nuts~"why are you here again??"
More Twins!
A katmoget ewe lamb from Bella & S'more
Bella 's new lamb~ our first katmoget and our first ewe lamb of the season.
Bella is an exceptional mother~constantly watching her little baby girl. Zinnia (we're using Z names this time)is always at her side. She was the big hit of the Easter weekend since some of our children and grandchildren got to witness her birth.
