Most of our rams lambs will likely be for sale.
The photos are not the greatest but ifyou are interested in any of these let me know and we'll try to get better ones.

This guy is HSt~ just a few wisps of white on the tail.

We're still thinking! Our pride and joy twins from Mapleton Duet and S'More .The ram lamb MAY be available. Zsa Zsa will be staying here this year =).(third photo)

This is Ziv, which means "full of life".He's our first HsT. He may be available. Let us know if you're interested.(bottom photo)

Up on pasture now

and loving it!

The Latest Addition

In keeping with the "Z" theme(DH's idea) we've named this little guy Ziv(full of life). He just appeared this morning without fanfare all cleaned up and ready for life! I love when that happens! Would he be classified as an HST? His front feet have a tiny bit of white on them.

Little Lamb Who Made Thee?

As I was posting these photos I thought of the poem by William Blake ~The Lamb. Anyone who is a shepherd is probably familiar with it. It brings tears to my eyes every time I read it.

“The Lamb”

Little Lamb who made thee
Dost thou know who made thee
Gave thee life & bid thee feed.
By the stream & o’er the mead;
Gave thee clothing of delight,
Softest clothing wooly bright;
Gave thee such a tender voice,
Making all the vales rejoice!
Little Lamb who made thee
Dost thou know who made thee

Little Lamb I’ll tell thee,
Little Lamb I’ll tell thee!
He is called by thy name,
For he calls himself a Lamb:
He is meek & he is mild,
He became a little child:
I a child & thou a lamb,
We are called by his name.
Little Lamb God bless thee.
Little Lamb God bless thee.

We spent Thursday with our daughter-in-law and grandchildren at Sight & Sound in Lancaster PA. Afterwards, Jon and Kylie experienced the wonder of new lambs. Of course it was only the rams that wanted to come over for a scrutch under the chin.
After a few minutes the lambies started getting drowsy...
A few minutes more and they literally collapsed~ totally mesmerized! Oh the joy of lambies!

Finally! Duet's twins!

Persephone had a sweet ewe ~krunet, smirslet? with 2 white socks
very early Sunday morning.
The big surprise came just an hour earlier.
What we've been waiting for so long~

Yuglet,Flecket,Sokket,Katmoget. I think I got that right.What do you think,Kara?
We are sooo excited!

It's Winter Again!

It has been so cold here that we've had to put heat lamps out in the last two jugs.
What happened to Spring??
We had a delightful weekend though!
A 4-H sewing group gathered here Saturday morning from 9-1. We met them when we had our first annual Shearing Day last month. A lovely group of homeschoolers who admired my Civil War re-enacting apron. I invited them back to make some of their own. They brought a yummy lunch and so much enthusiasm.
As a bonus they got to see the lambs! At 1pm the monthly Spinning Group arrived. I love these ladies~they are such an inspiration! One of these days I'll actually sit down and spin with them!
On Friday a prospective new shepherdess took this photo of two of our latest lambs.
Zita is the one standing,ZaneGrey is in front of her. We have 3 katmogets so far.

ZuZu and ZaneGrey

Zuzu is a petite black ewe with a sweet disposition like her mama. ZaneGrey is all boy~ bouncing around like a pogo stick!

Mercy's Twins

Mercy Finally decides to deliver.

When we came home from Church there was a car in our driveway. A dear friend drove up from NJ to bring me a carrot cake for my birthday! She arrived before we got there and witnessed the birth of Mercy's twins. Ha! She thought she'd be alone! She was in the middle of having the first twin when Krista peeked in.
We have a concern about these two. It seems they each have their left rear leg bent backwards.Could this be from an odd position in the womb or something else? They are up and walking much improved now. Any thoughts? The ewe lamb is a grey kat and the ram a very serious, sturdy black krunet. Look at that attitude!

Sunday Morning Surprise

Mercy had been teasing me with labors signs for 3 days." Imminent!" her pawing and circling behaviour said and then off she'd run ~literally run when she saw hay coming over the fence or a blade of grass she'd missed before. I know I saw a string of mucous coming out of her on Sat. am.I Prepared her jug and waited.
Meanwhile Raven, our sweetest ewe plopped down in front of me stuck her nose up into the air and pushed out twins right at my feet!!

We checked Mercy every half hour Sunday Morning but she just continued to chew her cud placidly looking at me like I was nuts~"why are you here again??"

More Twins!

Raven delivered a little black ewe 51/4 lbs. and a katmoget ram 61/2 lbs. Zuzu and ZaneGrey respectively. Zuzu from It's a Wonderful Life ; Zane Grey~our daughter's favorite author. Who knew there were so many Z names!

A katmoget ewe lamb from Bella & S'more

Bella 's new lamb~ our first katmoget and our first ewe lamb of the season.
Bella is an exceptional mother~constantly watching her little baby girl. Zinnia (we're using Z names this time)is always at her side. She was the big hit of the Easter weekend since some of our children and grandchildren got to witness her birth.

S'More becomes a papa!
